Overview

We are seeking a talented Laravel Developer with a keen eye for UI/UX to play a pivotal role in revamping and optimising our existing website. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Laravel development, experience with Content Management Systems and Frameworks, and a passion for crafting user-centric digital experiences. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our online presence by carefully handling and optimising our current site. The candidate should be adept at taking a project management approach, working in iterative runs, and providing creative solutions and advisory services to address our web and business challenges, setting the stage for a long-term partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development

Develop and maintain robust and scalable web applications using Laravel. The right candidate will be expected to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.

UI/UX Testing & Optimisation

Design and translate UI/UX designs into functional and visually appealing web pages.

Bug Fixing & Performance Optimisation

Optimise website performance and user experience through code refactoring, performance tuning, and efficient coding practices. Identify and resolve website bugs and performance issues promptly to ensure a seamless user experience.

Basic SEO Deployment

Recommend and execute basic SEO tactics to improve the output of the website.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience

Proven experience in Laravel development with a strong understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience in at least one frontend JavaScript and one CSS framework or library is required. Knowledge of database management using MySQL is required.

UI/UX Expertise

Experience with UI/UX design principles and the ability to create user-friendly interfaces.

Problem-Solving

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Code Quality

Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Preferred Qualifications

A portfolio of previous web development projects showcasing your skills in both backend development and UI/UX design.

Familiarity with version control systems like Git. Experience deploying and maintain web projects in a VPS environment.

Experience with performance optimization and debugging.

Mode of Working

1. Consultative scoping of required solutions based on current or emerging business needs.
2. Contractor scoping of web development or optimisation solution including basic notes of execution plan, timeline and cost.
3. Approval to proceed, payment and development.
4. Status updates during development.
5. Deployment and testing.
6. Debugging and confirmation of finalisation per spec.

Compensation

This is a project-based & part-time role. Compensation will be determined per feature / run and deployment and aligned with the candidate’s experience level with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
